JD'S GARAGE LLC · GARAGECAM

Terms of Service

Age and legal capacity

By accepting these Terms, you confirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years old and have the legal capacity and authority to enter into and be bound by this agreement. If you do not meet these requirements, you may not create an account or use GarageCAM.

1. Who provides GarageCAM

GarageCAM is provided by JD's Garage LLC, Fargo, North Dakota, United States ("we", "us" or "our"). Our public business address is 1203 43rd Ave N, Fargo, ND 58102, United States. Contact jdstrem@gmail.com.

These terms describe your use of GarageCAM. The separate Privacy Policy explains personal-information handling, and the Refund and Cancellation Policy explains our seven-day first-purchase guarantee and cancellation process.

Purchases handled by Paddle are also subject to Paddle's transaction terms. Paddle is the merchant of record for those purchases; these software-use terms do not replace its Buyer Terms or remove mandatory consumer rights. Paddle Buyer Terms.

2. Accounts and permitted use

Provide an accurate email address, complete verification and protect your sign-in credentials. Creating an account does not by itself grant trial or paid access. Report suspected unauthorized account use to support.

One account is for one named user, who may use GarageCAM for lawful personal or commercial projects on supported equipment that the user is authorized to operate. The current service permits one signed-in browser session and one cloud calculation per account at a time. Signing in elsewhere may require confirmation that the previous session will end. Do not share credentials or resell access. Different team members need their own authorized accounts unless we agree otherwise.

Account holders must be at least eighteen years old and have legal capacity to enter this agreement. You must also have appropriate training and authority to operate the equipment. Account eligibility does not establish operator competence or replace equipment-specific safety requirements.

Do not compromise another account, defeat access controls, overload the service, upload unlawful material or interfere with another person's use. These terms do not prohibit activities that applicable law protects, including lawful security research or interoperability rights; coordinate potentially disruptive testing with us before using a live service.

Do not upload malware, impersonate another person, collect other users' private information without authority, or use automated requests to evade account, calculation or payment limits. Ordinary authorized use and legally protected activity are not prohibited by this paragraph. Use must comply with applicable laws, including any applicable export-control and sanctions restrictions.

3. Your work and our software

You retain your rights in drawings, designs, settings and other material you provide. You must have permission to use that material. We do not claim ownership of your designs or of rights you have in generated output. Your subscription does not require you to assign the products you manufacture or your design rights to us. Rights in third-party drawings, libraries and other materials remain subject to their applicable terms.

You may manufacture and sell products using GarageCAM-generated output, subject to applicable law and any rights in the designs or other material you use. This does not authorize sharing or reselling access to the GarageCAM software itself.

You authorize the processing reasonably needed to provide your requested calculations, return results and operate the service, as explained in the Privacy Policy. This is not permission to publish or sell your designs.

Our rights in GarageCAM's software, branding and documentation remain with us or the relevant licensors. Access is a limited license to use the offered service, not a transfer of ownership in our software. Mandatory law and any applicable third-party or open-source license take precedence over an inconsistent restriction.

Except as those rights or our written permission allow, do not redistribute, sublicense or host a copy of the GarageCAM application for others, remove its ownership notices, or modify or reverse-engineer its proprietary code. These restrictions concern our application, not your designs, manufactured products, or lawfully generated output. Ending access does not take away rights you already hold in that output; it does end permission for new restricted service use.

You may send improvement suggestions voluntarily. We may evaluate and use general suggestions to improve GarageCAM without promising implementation or payment, unless we agree otherwise. This does not assign ownership of your feedback, reviews, drawings or designs, authorize publication of support attachments, or expand the processing permission above. Separate confidentiality agreements and the Privacy Policy remain applicable. Nothing here restricts honest reviews, lawful complaints or reports to regulators.

4. Subscription payments, trials and renewal

The price, currency and monthly or annual billing interval are displayed before purchase. Prices described as tax-inclusive include applicable sales tax/VAT in that displayed total. Your bank or payment provider may separately apply its own currency-conversion or other charges.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected billing interval until canceled. You authorize the recurring payment described at checkout. We will provide required disclosures, confirmations and notices, and obtain required consent. Price or material subscription changes will be communicated as required before they apply; you may cancel future renewal instead of accepting a future change. Do not assume an earlier price applies to a new purchase indefinitely.

Payment starts immediately when you subscribe, including during an existing trial. A qualifying Big Cartel order trial lasts thirty days from activation; it does not automatically convert to a subscription. An existing trial and paid period run concurrently: buying access does not pause or extend the trial. Active paid access blocks activation of a new order trial.

Paid access is based on confirmed payment periods, not simply an active-looking provider subscription. A failed renewal adds no paid time. Another independent, valid entitlement may still provide access when a paid period ends.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Manage renewal through Account → Billing and subscriptions → Manage billing on Paddle, the management link in your receipt or Paddle buyer support. Contact us if you cannot access those options. Ordinary cancellation normally leaves already-paid access available until its paid-through date; it does not itself refund a charge.

Our Refund and Cancellation Policy offers a full refund requested within seven calendar days of the first successful subscription payment. Later requests and renewals are reviewed individually, without limiting rights under law or Paddle's applicable policies. An approved full refund removes the access supplied by that refunded payment. When the current paid period is fully refunded and no other valid paid period remains on that subscription, GarageCAM triggers cancellation of that subscription's future renewal after processing. Other separately paid access and independent valid trials are preserved.

Closing the website or checkout overlay is not cancellation of an existing paid subscription. Do not purchase twice merely because payment confirmation is delayed.

6. Machine operation and safety

GarageCAM can generate commands that control potentially dangerous machinery. It is not an emergency-stop system, a safety-rated controller, a substitute for equipment interlocks or an unattended-operation safety system.

Generated toolpaths, G-code and Machine Control functions may contain errors. GarageCAM does not guarantee perfect accuracy, successful cuts, collision-free operation, or prevention of machine crashes, equipment damage, material loss or injury. Users must review output and machine setup, perform appropriate checks and safe dry runs, and supervise operation. GarageCAM does not replace physical safety systems.

This warning does not exclude or limit any mandatory warranty, consumer right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. It does not transfer all responsibility for a software defect to the user.

Before running output, inspect the drawing and toolpath, verify units, dimensions, work coordinates, offsets, clearances, feeds, cut settings, machine profile, controller compatibility and workholding. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions, provide appropriate guarding and protective equipment, supervise operation and keep a functioning physical emergency stop accessible. Use a safe simulation or torch-disabled dry run where appropriate before cutting.

Presets, examples, suggested cutting values and visual previews are aids, not engineering approval or certification of a finished part. A preview cannot verify physical travel, calibration, material condition or workholding. Review the exact output for the intended controller after any import, unit conversion, scaling, post-processing or later edit. Obtain any professional design review, inspection or certification needed for the part's intended use.

Do not bypass an interlock or continue after unexplained motion, lost status or a connection problem. Software messages are not proof that a machine is physically safe. If operation is uncertain, use the equipment's physical safety controls and safe stopping procedure. Do not refresh, close, sign out or change networks during an active job as a way to troubleshoot billing or website problems.

An access expiry or refund is not designed to send motion, torch, hold, reset or restart commands. An already-authorized, unchanged job can retain continuation only on its original uninterrupted connection. That protection is not a guarantee that the job will finish or a substitute for operator supervision. After that job is physically completed or safely closed, the normal fixed fifteen-minute grace allows only the limited safe-handling operations described in the interface. If no job is unresolved, grace starts when the access loss is applied. New work requires active access. A disconnected job is not automatically resumed or replayed.

7. Internet, offline use and compatibility

Sign-in, new website loads, account changes, payment confirmation and cloud calculations require Internet access. An already-open, online-authorized Machine Control page can support local offline operation after it reports offline readiness, until the last verified entitlement deadline. Offline reloads or opening a new private application page are not supported. Keep your own copies of drawings and output; GarageCAM is not a long-term design-storage service.

Offline pages cannot immediately receive a new refund, password change or access revocation. Reconnecting or reaching the last verified deadline applies the relevant restrictions. Changing a computer clock does not purchase extra access.

Use only the browser, controller, firmware, connection and machine combinations identified as supported in the current documentation. Availability of a setting or experimental implementation is not a promise of support. Nesting and index cutting are not included in the initial release. Verify future features against the actual published offering rather than buying based on a development roadmap.

Controllers, firmware, operating systems and payment services may have separate providers and terms. A compatibility reference does not imply their endorsement or a promise that every version or modification will work. We remain responsible for our own obligations; this is not a disclaimer of defects in GarageCAM merely because third-party equipment or services are involved.

We support the documented GarageCAM configuration; a subscription does not itself include custom post-processor development, machine repair, operator training or engineering services unless expressly offered or separately agreed. Support may request a reproducible example, version details and relevant settings. Share only material you are authorized to disclose, never passwords or payment credentials. Do not perform an unsafe live-machine test to reproduce a support issue.

For routine GarageCAM product support, email jdstrem@gmail.com. We aim to provide an initial reply within twenty-four (24) hours. This is a response target, not a guarantee of a reply or resolution within that time or a promise of twenty-four-hour, seven-day-a-week support. Refund and privacy requests follow their respective procedures; this routine support target does not reduce applicable response obligations or your mandatory rights.

8. Availability, changes and account restrictions

Maintenance, provider outages, network faults and capacity limits can interrupt the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular job completion time or an unlimited number of simultaneous calculations. We will handle applicable service remedies and refunds under the relevant policies and law. A rejected or failed calculation should not be treated as completed output.

We may investigate abuse or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, legal obligations or material breaches. We will give appropriate notice and a way to contact support where practicable and lawful. Account-sharing flags are review signals, not conclusive proof of misconduct. Restrictions do not authorize us to issue machine commands or replace physical safety procedures.

If access is permanently withdrawn or the service is discontinued, we will address notice, future billing and any unused prepaid-period remedy required by law or our published policies. Restricting application access alone does not cancel a Paddle subscription. Contact support to coordinate closure and check cancellation confirmation; do not assume stopping website use stops renewal. Keep permitted local copies of your work while access is available. Record retention and any deletion request follow the Privacy Policy, not an automatic promise that ending access erases every account, financial or backup record.

9. Warranties, liability and disputes

Your inspection and safe-operation responsibilities do not remove our obligations under applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes a mandatory warranty, consumer remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Contact support about a problem first where practical. This does not remove a right to complain to a regulator, seek an urgent remedy or dispute a charge.

10. Changes and acceptance

The version and effective date are identified with these Terms. Material changes will receive appropriate advance notice and renewed acceptance where required. They will not retroactively remove an existing refund right.

We use the verified account email and appropriate website notices for account, security and service communications. Keep access to that email and contact support if it becomes unavailable. Essential service communications are separate from optional marketing preferences. These Terms do not enroll you in marketing, texts or calls, waive legally required notices or consents, or declare that a message was received merely because it was sent.

11. Reading these terms together

Read these Terms with the linked Privacy and Refund/Cancellation Policies and the purchase disclosures applicable to your subscription. Paddle's transaction terms govern its merchant-of-record role; these Terms govern GarageCAM use. Nothing here replaces mandatory law, applicable open-source license rights or binding customer promises that the law requires us to honor.

If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision does not by itself give up the right to enforce it later. Obligations that necessarily continue after access ends, such as existing payment/refund obligations and design-ownership protections, continue within their lawful scope. This paragraph does not create an unlimited data-retention period or extend a legal claim deadline.
